FAQ
How long do the products last?
When you initially apply the product, you will smell the oils (a positive side effect of the product). After a period of time, you will not be able to smell the oils or the unwanted smell. The products are still working. If the unwanted odours return, it is time to reapply. This usually occurs between 2 and 4 weeks.
The time required before reapplication depends on 3 three main factors:
- The amount of odour, more odour means less time
- The size of the area being treated, larger area means less time
- The amount of air moving through the area, more air means less time
What should I do if I do not get the desired result?
This means that the odours in a given area are being produced faster than the products ability to absorb and eliminate them.
You may need to apply extra pads in this area or review the source of the odour and treat that area first.
If you are still having odour issues, contact us to discuss the problem.
Can I use the products for different applications than those listed?
Yes. The applications listed are the more common uses. The products have been used successfully for the applications listed. The range of uses is only limited by your willingness to try AirMop to solve any odour and fluid problems you may have.
If you wish to use for another application, we suggest that you trial the use at a time where you can adjust the application if required.
What is the shelf life of the product?
A minimum of 12 months. An unopened product should still be functional after this time. The products must be stored out of direct sunlight in a low humidity, a low-temperature area in the packaging provided. The packaging must be resealed properly after use. The flexible packs have been specially manufactured to ensure product longevity; other types of plastic packaging cannot be used.
How does AirMop work?
AirMop is primarily for air treatment. It contains a blend of minerals, polymers and essential oils (Odour Neutralising Complex). As an air purifier and odour/germ eliminator, AirMop is founded on the understanding that all germs, move around the air on moisture (or water). If you can control the movement of moisture in the air, you can control odours and germs. AirMop will absorb moisture from the air and along with it, the germs, associated odours and other particles on that water.
The Odour Neutralising Complex (ONC), which forms part of AirMop, is a blend of essential oils which are released from the product. The oils bind and eliminate any germs they come into contact with. The oils do have a pleasant smell, which is a positive side effect of using AirMop, but not directly related to how the product works. Typically, the essential oil smell settles down after a couple of days, with the effectiveness of the pads continuing for up to a month. AirMop does not mask the odours, it eliminates them.
Additionally, the Odour Neutralising Complex (ONC) will eliminate any bacteria and fungi it contacts, eliminating the source of problem odours; and finally settle onto surfaces below assisting with the control of germs.

AirMop was first launched for commercial applications, initially within the funeral industry, then rest homes, commercial buildings, day cares, apartments etc. It is a well proven product.
What tests have been performed on AirMop to prove its effectiveness?
The Preservative Efficacy Test measures the microbiocidal efficacy of the diluted Odour Neutralising Complex (ONC) – part of the process of AirMop on colonies of individual strains of bacteria and fungi.
The Odour Neutralising Complex (from the AirMop product) is shown to be effective against:
- Golden Staph (Staphylococcus aureus)
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- E. coli
- Aspergillus niger
- Candida albicans
With AirMop, the levels were reduced to the following (The Antimicrobial test is accepted within the US Hospital System, FDA Accepted):
| Organism | Initial Count | Day 14 | Day 28 |
| Aspergillus niger (fungi) | 260,000 | 70 | 24,000 |
| Candida Albicans (fungi) | 440,000 | Less than 10 | Less than 10 |
| Pseudomonas aeruginosa (bacteria) | 48,000,000 | 20,000 | 20,000 |
| Staphylococcus aureus (bacteria) | 41,000,000 | Less than 10 | Less than 10 |
| Escheriscia coli (bacteria) | 30,000,000 | Less than 10 | Less than 10 |
